As a result of our continual review of requirements and processes, we rescinded Informational Letter 94-04: Storage of Hydrocarbons in Underground Formations.
IL 94-04 was released on April 7, 1994, and discusses the adoption of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standard CSA Z341-93: Storage of Hydrocarbons in Underground Formations. IL 94-04 has now been rescinded, for the following reasons:
• CSA Z341-93 has been replaced by newer versions.
• Hydrocarbon cavern storage approvals have typically been conditioned on compliance with current CSA standards.
